Definizione
The American Jewish Joint Distribution Committee (JDC) was established on November 14, 1914. Originally named the Joint Distribution Committee of American Funds for the Relief of Jewish War Sufferers, the JDC was created as a shared operation of the Orthodox Central Committee for the Relief of Jews, the American Jewish Relief Committee, and later the People's Relief Committee to assist Jews in Europe and Palestine. Since its founding, the JDC has assisted Jews around the world through financial aid, relief and rescue operations, rehabilitation programs, and reconstruction efforts. The JDC is affiliated with the United Jewish Appeal (UJA) and receives funding from the United Jewish Communities (UJC). (en-US)
