Parti Communiste Français CercaDefinizione
The Parti Communiste Français (French Communist Party, PCF) was established out of the left wing of the French Socialist Party in 1920 to represent the working class and trade unions. The PCF did not make a major impact of French politics until 1936 when the party joined Leon Blum's Popular Front coalition government. After the war, the communists were dismissed from the Fourth Republic government and lost support during the Fifth Republic. After 1965, the PCF joined with other leftist parties to form the Federation of the Democratic and Socialist Left. (en-US)
