Rosselli, Nello CercaDefinizione
Born into a Republican Jewish family in Rome in 1900, Nello Rosselli was a leader in the anti-fascist Giustizia e Libertà movement along with his brother, Carlo. The Rosselli brothers were students at the University of Florence where they were members of the intellectual anti-fascist group Circolo di Cultura. When his brother Carlo was interned on the island of Lipari and then fled to Paris, Nello remained behind in Italy to continue with anti-Fascist activities and his work as a history professor. In June 1937, Carlo and Nello Rosselli were murdered in Normandy by members of the French military intelligence under orders from the Fascist government. (en-US)
