Abu Nidal Organization CercaDefinizione
The Abu Nidal Organization, also known as the Fatah Revolutionary Council, was founded in 1974 by Sabri Khalil al-Banna, better known as Abu Nidal, after Nidal's faction broke away from the original Fatah (Palestine National Liberation Movement) which had been founded in the late 1950s by Yasir Arafat as part of the PLO (Palestine Liberation Organization). The ANO has carried out terrorist attacks in the US, Europe, Israel, and other Arab countries. Some of their operations include the attack on the Rome and Vienna airports in 1985 and the shooting of people in a synagogue in Instabul, Turkey in 1986. The PLO rejected the radicalism of the ANO and sentenced Nidal to death in absentia. (en-US)
