Priebke, Erich CercaDefinizione
Erich Priebke was an SS officer who oversaw massacre of Italian partisans and Jews in the Ardeatine Caves outside of Rome, Italy, on March 24, 1944. He was arrested in Argentina in 1994, following an interview with American journalist in which he spoke of his participation in the massacre. He was extradited to Italy where he put on trial three times by a military tribunal court in Rome. He was found guilty of first-degree murder. As of January 1998, his life sentence was commuted to house arrest. (en-US)
