Di Porto, Celeste CercaDefinizione
Celeste Di Porto, nicknamed the Black Panther, was a young Jewish woman who denounced other Jews to the SS and Gestapo for money in Rome during the German occupation. Among those she helped to arrest were the men and boys who were murdered in the Ardeatine Cave Massacre on March 24, 1944. After the liberation of Rome in June 1944, she was arrested by the Allies but escaped from the Regina Coeli prison. She was arrested again in 1947, but released from imprisonment and then disappeared. (en-US)
