The Gruppi di Azione Patriottica (GAPs) was a network of communist-oriented resistance groups established in Rome and the major cities in northern and central Italy after September 1943. Based on the French Maquis, the Gapists waged guerrilla warfare against the occupying Germans. Antonelli Trombadori was the leader of the GAP in Rome. (en-US)
