Definizione

Giustizia e Libertá (Justice and Liberty) was an Italian political movement founded by Carlo Rosselli, a prominent anti-fascist intellectual, while exiled in France in 1929. It was the largest non-communist anti-Fascist organization with the goal of establishing a democratic republic in Italy. Directed by Rosselli in France, the movement attracted many well-educated anti-fascist Jews. Carlo Rosselli and his brother, Nello, were murdered in France in 1937 on the orders of the Italian government and the movement waned. In 1943, the Action Party was established as the successor to the Justice and Liberty organization and sponsored a partisan brigade, named Brigate Giustizia e Libertà (Liberty and Justice Brigade) in honor of the Rosselli brothers' movement.
