Definizione
Also known as Pesach, it is the first of three pilgrimmage festivals commemorating the Exodus of the Jewish people from Egypt. Observance includes sedarim (ritual feasts), where specially prescribed foods are eaten while the story of the Exodus is read, discussed, and symbolically relived through the Haggadah (book telling the story of the Exodus). Strict dietary laws prohibit the consumption of leavened substances for the eight days of the holiday. (en-US)
