Used for discussions involving experiences with child refugees. Additional information: Do not use simply as a marker of interviewee's status or identity. Please note that other index terms involving children ("children in the camps," "children in the ghettos," etc.) use the age of 13 as the upper limit for classifying a person as a "child." For this index term, the limit has been extended to 16 in order to capture the experiences of children who escaped Germany through the Kindertransport program, which used 16 as its age limit for eligibility.
