Definizione

Salzwedel was a forced labor camp for women prisoners, located in the state of Saxony in the district of Salzwedel. The camp was a subcommando of Neuengamme which existed from 1944 to 1945 when some of the inmates were evacuated to Wöbbelin. It was liberated on April 14/15, 1945. The employer who used forced laborers was Polte Werke-Magdeburg which produced mines. (en-US)
