Definizione
On April 17, 1935, Italian armed forces invaded the East African kingdom of Ethiopia (Abyssinia) via Italian Somaliland and Italian Eritrea. Ethiopian forces resisted but by March 1936, they were defeated and emperor Haile Selassie was forced into exile in England. In June 1936, Selassie made his famous speech to the League of Nations in Switzerland regarding the invasion and the League's failure to protect its members. (en-US)
