Definizione
Protected (védett) houses were buildings in Budapest where Jews under the protection of the legations of the neutral states (Sweden, Switzerland, Portugal, and Spain), the Vatican, and the International Red Cross resided between July 1944 and November 1944. Protected houses also served at one point as the so-called "international ghetto" during the Szálasi era. (en-US)
