Used for discussions of the reactions of a general population that was not a target of anti-Jewish persecution to Nazi and Axis anti-Jewish policies and actions. These responses include wartime or postwar gestures of sympathy or antipathy (for example, during the war anonymously throwing food to Jewish prisoners during a forced march or taunting Jewish deportees).
