Germany annexes Austria on March 13, and the Sudetenland (northwestern areas of Czechoslovakia bordering on Germany) on October 6. As of October 5, all Jewish passports are stamped with "J." After Kristallnacht (Nov 9), there is a marked intensification of anti-Jewish measures. (en-US)
