Germany invades Yugoslavia on April 6. In Serbia, the Wehrmacht imprisons most Jewish men in July, and kills them between August and November. Jewish women and children are imprisoned in December. Germans and Italians establish Croatia on April 10; the Croatian purge of foreign elements includes a drive during summer to exterminate and dispossess Serbs. From June to the end of the year, Croatia arrests 2/3 of Croatian Jews; most are killed by the Ustasa at the Jasenovac camp. (en-US)
