Definition:
Deportations from Theresienstadt continue; in the Protectorate of Bohemia/Moravia, only Jewish partners of mixed marriages remain. By summer, partisans control significant portions of eastern and central Slovakia, and an uprising begins on August 29. Over 2,000 Jews participate. The uprising collapses on October 28, but deportations sending Jews to Auschwitz, Sachsenhausen, and Theresienstadt already begin on September 30; many are also killed in Slovakia by German forces.
