Definizione

German armed forces invaded Hungary on March 19, 1944. Although Hungary had supported the Axis, its role as an oil producer led to the German occupation as the tide turned against the Axis. Upon Hungary's surrender, Admiral Horthy was forced to appoint a pro-German government headed by General Dome Sztójay. (en-US)
