Definizione

The day that commemorates the destruction of the First and Second Temples in Jerusalem. It also is a day for mourning for other catastrophes that befell the Jewish people. Tisha be-Av is considered the saddest day in the Jewish year. Observances of this holiday include synagogue attendance, fasting, refraining from wearing leather shoes, the eating of eggs dipped in ashes, and reading the Book of Eha (Lamentations). (en-US)
